Associate Benefits

The firm provides the following fringe benefits to associates:

401(k) Plan. Dinsmore & Shohl maintains a 401(k) plan through which pre-tax contributions may be made via payroll deduction. Employees are eligible to enroll on date of hire. This retirement plan is managed by Fidelity Investments. Participants may select from a wide variety of mutual funds in which to invest their contributions.

Medical Insurance. Dinsmore & Shohl provides single coverage medical insurance at no cost to associates. There are two medical plans to choose from: a PPO plan or a High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Savings Account option. Two-party and family plans are available at some cost to the associate.

Section 125 Premium Payment Plan. Dinsmore & Shohl maintains a Section 125 Premium Payment Plan that allows associates to pay medical and dental premiums using pre-tax dollars. No waiting period applies for participation in this plan. The firm also offers a Flexible Spending Plan.

Long-Term Disability Insurance. Dinsmore & Shohl provides long-term disability insurance. The plan pays 60 percent of compensation commencing 90 days after the start of disability and continuing for the length of the disability up to age 65.

Bus/Parking Information. The cost of monthly parking or bus pass can be deducted from paychecks on a pre-tax basis. For monthly parkers at specified garages/lots or bus riders, the firm can pay the monthly fee in advance and deduct the amount from paychecks on a pre-tax basis.

Life Insurance. Dinsmore & Shohl pays the premium for this benefit. The coverage provided equals 1.5 times the associate's salary. Associates have the ability to purchase additional life insurance, as well as insurance for their spouse or dependents, at a group rate.

Dental Insurance. Dinsmore & Shohl offers a dental plan that covers preventative dental in full. Associates may choose between a single, two-party or family plan.

Group Travel Accidental Insurance. The firm provides insurance that covers losses incurred while traveling on company business.

Vacation. Attorneys are entitled to three weeks of paid vacation during each calendar year. After 10 years, vacation increases to four weeks. Paid holidays are announced at the beginning of each year.

Employee Assistance Program. The firm offers an Employee Assistance Program that allows up to six counseling visits for any family member.

Association Dues. The firm pays for two bar association memberships of your choice per calendar year.

Malpractice Insurance. The firm pays all malpractice insurance premiums.

Legal Seminars. Associates may attend approved legal seminars at the firm's expense.

Client Development Account. Each year the firm provides a client development account for each attorney. This money is available for lunches, dinners or other entertainment of current or prospective clients.

Lactation Room. As a service to our working mothers, a private lactation room is provided in many of our offices.
